Dentures

What are the different types of dentures?

There is three types of dental prosthesis available:

Precision prosthesis

Removable dentures are still a great way to replace missing teeth. There are no better solution than traditional implants when your bone is resorbed and you do not want implants. This is the same type of dental prosthesis than those we manufacture for dental implants. Precision dentures are biofunctional, that is to say, they represent more accurately the movements of mastication to increase comfort and stability, despite a high bone resorption. They are designed with the best materials available on the market. For the manufacture of this type of dental prosthesis, we use teeth with unparalleled natural appearance and esthetics.

Semi-precision prosthesis

This type of denture is less personal. To fabricate them, a denturist uses an articulator that is adjustable and which only partially reproduces the movements of laterality and protrusion of the mouth in an arbitrary manner.

Standard prosthesis

For the standard dental prosthesis to be functionnal for mastication, it is preferable to have a high bone density. If your bone resorbtion is high, it is better to have a precision denture or a dental implant prosthesis.

The standard dental prosthesis can be made with many type of teeth depending on the denturist. Unfortunetely, the prices vary extremely between different professionals. However, most of the time, when you pay less, cheaper teeth will be used and premature detoriation will happen.

Technologies

We follow without compromise, as it should be, the principle of "Universal Precautions" where every patient is considered contaminated, so as to avoid any risk of transmission, any instrument is sterilized or destroyed.

Our denture laboratory is equipped with a cooking system that Ivoclar injection has been used for over 30 years. Our denturologist is a member of the Ordre des denturologistes du Québec.

There are four types of dental prosthesis available:

Mounting technique

Christian Barriault uses STRATOS 300 articulator technology. Its modern face bow can even simulate and reproduce the most complex functional movements.

Your own masticatory movements are studied closely to achieve the greatest efficiency and stability possible thanks to precise mounting techniques used by Christian Barriault.

High Impact Acrylic

The high impact acrylic used by Christian Barriault is the SR IVOCLAR system which inject resin under a constant pression during cooking. The prosthesis polymerized this way is perfectly fit to the form of your gums and create a better adherence in your mouth.

High Impact Ivocap SR Resin

High Impact Ivocap SR Resin is designed with the IVOCAP system from IVOCLAR.

The resin injection technique process used by Christian Barriault compensates for the resin withdrawal when heating. Heat polymerization is conducted at a constant pressure of 6 bar. Resin doses are prepared by IVOCLAR to excludes dosing errors.

This process ensures:

  • Perfect fitting accuracy (heating from anatomical footprint model.)
  • Respect of the occlusion. No increase in the vertical dimension.
  • The homogeneity of the resin gives a high resistance to impact and fracture.

Complies with EN ISO 1567.
